K2 Marine Systems, LLC. was founded by Kevin Kolacki in 2013. Kevin is an engineer with 20 years of history in the marine industry beginning with his humble roots of fishing and sailing on the Great Lakes as a kid growing up in the Greater Detroit area.
After earning a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University in 1993, Kevin decided to head west and take a summer off by commercial fishing in Alaska’s Berring Sea for Salmon and Herring. After a summer of very hard work he realized that he had a passion for marine electrical systems and electronics as shown by re-wiring several of the fishing boat’s electrical systems on the fly! This was the beginning of a new career for Kevin in the world of Marine Electronics and Electrical Systems.
Back on the mainland, Kevin worked for several engineering firms ranging from an inspector for the Washington Dept. of Transportation on a floating bridge project in Seattle to working in Ventura Ca. as a project engineer for an environmental company. Always looking out to sea, he realized his passion should be his source of income and Kevin took a job as a marine electronics installer in 1997 in San Diego and the rest is history.
Today Kevin is amongst the top in the field of Marine Electronics for recreational boating as well as military, commercial, research and work boats. With 20 years of experience in sales, service, installations, yacht management and on board customer training and troubleshooting, Kevin and K2 Marine Systems are ready to help you with all your boat’s electronics and electrical needs.
